Overview

Zymes’ core technology is centered on two areas, coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and Ubisol-Aqua™.

Coenzyme Q10: Zymes’ patented water soluble formulation of coenzyme Q10, HQO™, is being applied to nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, and pharmaceutical products. Zymes is committed to providing individuals with quality products utilizing this remarkably functional form of coenzyme Q10 to enhance their health and well being. Zymes is also recognized in the industry for our patented synthetic process for manufacturing coenzyme Q10. Our research programs are dedicated to the highest level of integrity and aimed at improving overall health and well-being through innovative approaches. We aim to:

  • Scientifically document the value of coenzyme Q10 supplementation in health and disease
  • Enhance the ability of coenzyme Q10 to provide benefits in areas where its value has already been established
  • Identify new appropriate indications for the use of coenzyme Q10

Ubisol-Aqua™: Ubisol-Aqua™ is a pioneering nano-technology which currently has two broad applications:

  • Delivery System: Ubisol-Aqua™ makes possible the solubilization and reformulation of water-insoluble drugs, nutrients and cosmetic ingredients. The capacity of Ubisol-Aqua™ to expand the usefulness of such compounds has been scientifically demonstrated with water-soluble formulations of coenzyme Q10 (HQO™) and antifungal antibiotics. Still, the broad applicability of this technology has yet to be fully realized. Further exploration of Ubisol-Aqua™ points to improved delivery options for an increasing number of water-insoluble and poorly soluble compounds. Research on new applications for Ubisol-Aqua™ as well as additional delivery system platforms is ongoing at Zymes.
  • Green Chemistry: Ubisol-Aqua™’s lead compound, PTS, can be used to realize “green chemistry” by cost-effectively achieving solubilization of both reactants and catalysts in chemical reactions. This permits organic reactions to take place in water as the only solvent, at room temperature, obviating the need for organic solvents and, oftentimes heat - both of which have significant environmental impact.
